Project: Punctuate!

Installed: Schoenbar Middle School

Location: Ketchikan, Alaska

Materials: Linocut on wood

Size: 55' x 7' x 4"

Year: 2009

Hand-carved linoleum cuts are printed in multiple layers onto 33 wood panels which are mounted off the wall at different distances. The shaped panels are inspired by punctuation marks, and loosely compose an abstract, albeit letter-less, sentence.

The piece serves to visually drop the high ceiling with open mechanical systems, to create a cozier feeling in the library.
